Microsoft Teases Next Dashboard Update
The next update for the Xbox 360's dashboard volition be faster and feature "performance enhancements," according to vague remarks made by Microsoft's Major Nelson on the in vogue sequence of his podcast.
Big surprisal: Microsoft is working on an update for the Xbox 360 dashboard and they say IT's going to follow an improvement happening the current incarnation. While it doesn't sound like the upcoming revision volition be anywhere near as dramatic as the move from the Old Xbox Experience to the New Xbox Experience, Microsoft's Major Nelson says it'll pack peck of goodies.
"We are making the guide quicker," Nelson said on his last podcast. Quicker is better, and a speed cost increase would sure enough be receive – I detest it when the dashboard chugs when I'm just trying to speed through to nark Netflix so I can watch Karate Kid 2 operating room Kickin It Old School. According to Nelson, the dashboard squad has "done some really good stuff around making performance enhancements."
The next dashboard won't just be faster, though. "'Operation enhancements' doesn't sound aright because it sounds like we're passing to give the guide a bit blue pill, and we'ray not doing that," Admiral Nelson said. "Some we call out it (and it's not going to be called the NNXE), but whatever the next version of the dashboard is called, it's better with a allot of very cool new features."
We already know about some of those "cool new features" aft E3: an along-require games store, magical 1080p video streaming, Facebook/Twitter/Twitterbook/Faceter, and more. Hopefully Microsoft has some more surprises up its sleeve when the splasher update comes unconscious later this year.
